Katherine & Andrew’s Gorgeous Goldie Vineyard Wedding

The dawn of a lovely tranquil Waiheke summer day was the dawn of gorgeous bride Katherine Kay’s wedding day … at 4 pm accompanied by proud dad Denis, she walked across the grass towards the magnificent old Pohutukawa tree on Goldie hill where overlooking Putiki Bay glistening in the sunshine and acres of lush grape vines, Andrew Cooke waited eagerly to join hands and hearts with his stunning bride.

Andrew’s family made the long journey from the UK joining with Katherine’s New Zealand family who along with  special friends witnessed their vows and celebrated their happiness.

Returning from their London home to marry here, Katherine who spent a lot of her happy childhood on Waiheke had  introduced Andrew to the charms of island life on holiday trips back home … this was therefore the perfect location for their beautiful wedding.  Although life began on opposite sides of the globe, it was New Zealand born Katherine’s decision to travel to the UK that set the scene for today’s celebration – meeting her “English gentleman” Andrew at the Ascot Races in 2014 was a day that changed both their lives forever. Although not winning any races that afternoon, they both agree they had “happily backed their own winner”.

Appreciated words from Katherine and Andrew: “You came highly recommended by a friend of mine, Natalie Summerville nee Natalie Jordan whose wedding you did at Mudbrick Vineyard about 18 months ago – I was there, it was a beautiful wedding and a beautiful ceremony!”
