5th Wedding Anniversary for Ingrid & Paul
5 Years ago on May 26th Ingrid and Paul Heynen celebrated their marriage in a beautiful private garden amongst close family and special friends.
What is ironic is that Ingrid started life with the surname Heynen and she will end it with exactly the same name despite having a “few years off” in between – history checked by her father John, proved there are no connections between the 2 families dating back as far as the early 1800”s.
When both Ingrid and Paul’s families immigrated to New Zealand from Holland in the 1950’s their parents became friends – initially because they bore the same name, settled in Henderson and had the same origins they needed contact with people from similar backgrounds while they were settling into their new chosen country. This friendship blossomed and their children growing up also became lifelong friends with Ingrid and Paul’s paths crossing many times over the years.
Eventually realizing a deep enduring love they exchanged vows in 2012 and stepped firmly into the bond of marriage. A lucky move for Ingrid…she didn’t have to change her stationary with her initials remaining the same!! ((J
Ingrid’s comment about her 5th anniversary: Was reading our vows yesterday – what an awesome job you did (Irene) Love what we said … “These are the hands of your best friend strong and full of love for you … these are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes. Tears of sorrow and tears of joy these are the hands that will help you hold your family as one.. This has been so appropriate… We thank you so much for what you helped us with as we prepared for life together..xxx
And so dear Ingrid and Paul, congratulations once again, may you share many more wonderful happy and adventurous years together…as your friend it has been a pleasure to watch your relationship flourish and your marriage blossom through the years. Yours is truly “a marriage of matching ideals, personalities and family love”.
Looking forward to a re-affirmation?? ((J
